Floyd Samuel Little's Obituary
Mr. Floyd Samuel "Sam" Little, age 96, formerly of West 21st Street, Kannapolis, died Sunday, May 23, 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jim Grigg will officiate. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral from 2:30 until 4 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
Born February 18, 1914 in Union County, NC, Sam was a son of the late, C.L. Little and Minnie Alice Edwards Little. He was a longtime active member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Having served in the U.S. Army during World War II, he returned to work in the pipe department of Cannon Mills plant #1 for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Horace and Pete Little; five sisters, Lola Thomas, Edna Moore, Bronnie White, Carrie Lee and Janet Langston.
Survivors include his son, Rick Little and wife, Sheri, of Belmont, NC; four sisters, Janie Motley, of Georgeville, NC, Marie Hunneycutt of Stanfield, NC, Clara Nash of Matthews, NC and Betty Watts of Waxhaw, NC.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Peak Resources, Gaston Memorial Hospital and Gaston Hospice.
