Frances Hooper Church's Obituary
Mrs. Frances Myrtle Hooper Church, 81, died Monday, October 16, 2006, at St. Andrews Living Center in Concord.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2006, at West Point Baptist Church. Rev. Rich Szekely will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Church was born February 1, 1925 in Carnesville, GA. She was a daughter of the late Hoyt Hooper and Myrtie Duncan Hooper. She was a member of West Point Baptist Church. A meticulous homemaker and housekeeper, she had worked for Cannon Mills and Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, as well as the hospital in Jacksonville, FL. She was a very outgoing person who enjoyed many things in life, murder mysteries and her soaps, as well as politics, the current news and collecting teddy bears and figurines. One of her interests was caring for others as she did in caring for her parents during their declining years and illness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Edward Church in November 2005 and five brothers, Frank, Thomas, Phil, Billy, and Nolan Hooper.
Mrs. Church is survived by her husband, Henry Clay Church; son, Fred Grady Church of Charlotte; four grandchildren, David, Michael, Sean and Rebecca.
