Frances Irene Slough's Obituary
Mrs. Frances Irene Walter Slough, 91, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016, at Best of Care Assisted Living in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, February 1, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roger Bostic will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Slough was born May 26, 1924 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Martin Walter and Minnie Irene Allman Walter. She worked as a nursing assistant at the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, and after became a homemaker. Frances enjoyed helping people when in need, and she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lathan James Barnett, Sr.; and second husband, Clyde Crusoe Slough.
Mrs. Slough is survived by two sons, Lathan James Barnette, Jr. and Keith Slough; two brothers, Clarence Walter and Martin Walter, Jr.; three sisters, Doris Turner, Lessie Hudson, all of Kannapolis, and Jerline Helms of Ohio; and two grandsons, Lathan Barnett, III and John Barnett.
