Frances Threadgill Roberson's Obituary
Mary Frances Roberson, a beloved resident of Landis, North Carolina, passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 86 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born on December 16, 1937, to her parents, Robert E. and Mary L. Threadgill of Kannapolis.
Frances was a dedicated wife to her husband, Carl Eugene Roberson, for 47 years. Together, they raised two children, Scotty E. Roberson and Tara R. Yost, who were her pride and joy. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tara R. Yost, and survived by her son, Scotty E. Roberson, and daughter-in-law “Nellie” of Kannapolis; granddaughter, Kristina “Krissy” Andrews, and great-grandchildren, Kylie, Gage, Ellie, and Elizabeth of China Grove; grandson, Charles Lee Yost, Jr., of China Grove; and sister and brother-in-law, Ron and Linda McCurdy of Florida. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything and played an integral role in their lives.
Frances graduated from A. L. Brown High School, Class of 1956, and furthered her education at Pfeiffer University, where she obtained her Masters Degree in Education. She worked tirelessly and diligently as the director and principal of North Kannapolis Christian Academy until her earthly departure. Before serving there, she was an English teacher with Cabarrus County Schools for 37 years, where she taught middle-school English at Northwest Cabarrus Middle School.
Throughout her life, Frances was deeply involved in her community. She served with passion at North Kannapolis Baptist Church and North Kannapolis Christian Academy for the majority of her life. She also dedicated her time to the NKBC Food Pantry organization, always eager to lend a loving, helping hand to those in need.
When she wasn’t serving others, Frances enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also found solace in reading, expanding her knowledge and understanding of the world around her.
Frances will be remembered as a caring and compassionate individual who touched the lives of many. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service is scheduled for 5:00 pm Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:45 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Interment will 3:00 pm Monday at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
