Frank Lorain Fowler's Obituary
Mr. Frank L. Fowler, 81, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ric Durham will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:45 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Fowler was born June 15, 1935 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late J.V. “Beck” Fowler, Sr. and Matilda Hilton Fowler. He attended A.L. Brown High School prior to joining the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol in Salisbury where he was a Telecommunications Center Supervisor. He was a recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Bullock Bible Class where he was the treasurer from many years.
Frank loved lawn work and working in his garden. He enjoying surf fishing at Kure Beach and loved to watch it rain. Frank also had a talent to repair anything for his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Fowler; two brothers, J.V. Fowler, Jr. and William Fowler.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria Currier Fowler; son, Curt Fowler and wife Donna of Kannapolis; sister, Faye Stewart of Salisbury; two brothers, Larry Fowler and wife Lois of Salisbury and Wayne Fowler and wife Joyce of China Grove; several nieces and nephews; and three special people, Millie Enos, Sharon Wilson, Maizie Loggins and Jatana Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Big Elm Ministries, 905 McKnight Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
