Geneva Gentle Seabolt's Obituary
Mrs. Geneva Gentle Seabolt, a loving mother and grandmother, age 83, died on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Carver and Mr. Kirk Sams officiating. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, May 12, 2008, from 7 to 8:30 at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Seabolt was born in Rowan County on May 13, 1924, a daughter of the late George W. Gentle and Dovie Rarey Gentle. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband of 48 years, James Robert Seabolt Sr., who died on June 29, 1986. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Rob Gentle, Theadore Gentle, Mike Gentle and Lonnie Gentle; and four sisters, Ola Freeman, Edna Coon, Nellie Honbarger and Idell Gentle.
She was a retired textile employee and was of the Baptist Faith. One of her greatest joys in life, in addition to her family, was her flowers.
Survivors include one son, James "J.R." Seabolt Jr., and wife Bobbie of Rockwell; two daughters, Carolyn Heilig and husband Bob and Donna Burchette and husband Ray, all of Rockwell; five grandchildren, Julie Byrd, Jamie Bost, Joni Hess, Tim Burchette and Eddie Seabolt; 11 great grandchildren, Alex Byrd, Jacob Byrd, Carsen Byrd, Dayton Hess, Landrie Hess, Addi Bost, Oren Bost, Ashlyn Burchette, Kaylin Burchette, Gary Burchette and Haley Burchette; one brother, Archie Gentle of Salisbury; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Wilson of Landis and Rae Seabolt of Charlotte.
Memorials may be donated to Rowan Regional Medical Center, 612 Mocksville Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144, in honor of Dr. John R. Finch.
