George Dwight Greene's Obituary
Mr. George Dwight Greene, 86, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, February 5, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bob Young will officiate. Interment will follow with full military honors at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Greene was born July 23, 1930 in Cabarrus County, NC. He was the son of the late Rufus Greene and Irene Canup Greene. He retired from the US Army as an E-7, and later enjoyed working in his family business, Greendale Tropical Fish in Kannapolis. George was an active member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. He loved watching western movies on TV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, David Greene.
Mr. Greene is survived by his wife of 44 years Gaysorn “Gay” Utano Greene; and daughter, Cherri Greene of Panama City, FL.
