George Leon Kiser, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. George Leon Kiser, Sr., age 94, of Bost Street, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Caremoor Retirement Center.
Mr. Kiser was born March 3, 1914, a son of the late James Lane Kiser and Julia Eaker Kiser. He retired from Cannon Mills Company in 1979 following 45 years of employment and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
A graveside service for Mr. Kiser will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at Carolina Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. Rev. Judy White will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service. At other times, the family will be at the home of a son, George Kiser, Jr., 815 Woodmoore Lane, Kannapolis.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Anna Bland in 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Jane Kiser McRorie and husband, Grant of Rutherfordton, NC, and two sons, George L. Kiser, Jr. and wife Jane of Kannapolis and Stephen Bland Kiser and wife Jane of Bluffton, SC. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Stephen Bland Kiser, Jr. and wife Alice, Jack Scurry Kiser, Julia Kiser Pratt and husband Ryan, Margaret McRorie Kirk and husband Hailey, Robert Grant McRorie III, and wife Ursula, George Warren McRorie and wife Andrea, Elizabeth Kiser Norris and husband Grady, George Leon "Lee" Kiser III, and wife Estella, Matthew Dayvault Kiser and wife Melinda, and twenty great-grandchildren, Tres Kiser, Clara Jane Kiser, Brad Kiser, Ava Pratt, Bella Pratt, Camden Pratt, Sarah Kirk, Will Kirk, Alexander McRorie, Ava McRorie, Catherine McRorie, Luke McRorie, Gracyn McRorie, Victoria Jane Norris, Aaron David Norris, Sarah Elizabeth Norris, Kiser David Norris, Nicholas Bayne Kiser, Christopher Nolan Kiser, and T. J. Allman.
