George Lee Lyles Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. George Lee Lyles, Sr., 71, went to be with his Lord on Friday, October 27th, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday at Gateway Baptist Church, 6321 Robinson Church Road, Charlotte. Mr. Lyles will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Rev. Hugh Foy will officiate. Interment will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis.
Mr. Lyles was born December 3, 1945 in Concord. He was a son of the late Herman George Franklin Lyles and Mary Lucille James Lyles. He retired from the Rite Aid warehouse as a forklift operator. George also sold produce at the Farmers Market in Charlotte. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army. He was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed the Washington Redskins. George loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his infant daughter, Deborah Lyles, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and David Lyles.
Mr. Lyles is survived by his wife, Pamela "Pam" Lyles, of the home; two children, George Lyles, Jr. of Salisbury and Tammy Harris of Mocksville; three sisters, Brenda Faires, Mary (Ernie) Tarlton and Delores (Robert) Gambrell, all of Salisbury; three sisters-in-law, Brenda, Pat and Sherry; two stepdaughters, Sara and Kate, both of Charlotte; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and his faithful canine companion, Lady.
