George Edward Strickland's Obituary
Mr. George Edward Strickland, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the North Carolina Veterans Home in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lewis Whittington will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 pm Saturday at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Strickland was born August 10, 1923 in Kannapolis. He was the son of the late James Edward Strickland and Lillie Henderson Strickland. He retired from G & S Metal Company in Kannapolis, where he was a shop foreman. Mr. Strickland was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of First Baptist Church of Enochville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosana B. Strickland; and daughter, Kathy Beaver.
Mr. Strickland is survived by a son, Terry Strickland and wife Donna of Sarasota, FL; sister, Adelaide Taylor of Kannapolis; six grandchildren, Jennifer Goodson, Jamie Williams, Megan Nolan, Kristin Ward, Steve Strickland and David Strickland; and eight great grandchildren.
