Harry Jones Barnhardt's Obituary
Mr. Harry Jones Barnhardt, 94, a resident of Concord Place in Concord and formerly of Rogers Lake Road, Kannapolis, passed away, Thursday, June 29, 2006.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Forbis Kivett and the Rev. T. Wayne Preusz will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born September 7, 1911, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Millard K. Barnhardt and Ollie Mae Long Barnhardt. He attended Winecoff High School and retired in Atlanta, Georgia as a union carpenter in 1976, having worked for several commercial contractors along the east coast. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church and the Carpenter's Union.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Hilton Barnhardt, who died November 30, 1983.
Survivors include his son, Tony Barnhardt of Kannapolis; two sisters, Ruth Taylor of Concord and Helen Todd of Charlottesville, Va.; two brothers, Malcolm Barnhardt of Kannapolis and Carl Barnhardt of Concord; a grandson, Timmy James Barnhardt; two great-grandchildren, Heather and Laurie; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
