Hazel Demarcus Griffin's Obituary
Mrs. Hazel DeMarcus Griffin, 85, of 911 Klondale Avenue, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at her residence after fifteen months of declining health and one week of serious illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. W. Dale Tanner and Rev. Tom Tucker will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 911 Klondale Avenue.
Mrs. Griffin was born March 30, 1917 in Durham, NC. She was a daughter of the late Lonnie S. DeMarcus, Sr. and Etta Mohorn DeMarcus. She retired from the Sheet Department of Cannon Mills after 50 years of service. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Griffin, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Jim L. Griffin.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by a daughter, Frances Rodgers, and her husband, LaVaughn Rodgers, of Kannapolis; sister, Leona Bentley of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Todd Coe and his wife, Julie, Faith Ann Burns and her husband, Marvin; four great grandchildren, Austin Coe, Joshua Edwards, Stephen Edwards, and Sarah Burns; special neighbors, Jerry and Kaye Bradshaw; and a number of nieces and nephews.
