Herman Clay Eagle's Obituary
Mr. Herman Clay Eagle, 92, of Kannapolis, was surrounded by his family, when he passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury, after a brief stay at CMC-NorthEast.
A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Landis. Pastor Jarrod Lanning will officiate. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Eagle was born February 15, 1919 in Rowan County. He was the son of the late James Wesley Eagle and Lottie Winecoff Eagle. He was educated in the Rowan County School System and attended Queens College. Mr. Eagle worked until his retirement at Allison Erwin Company in Charlotte.
Mr. Eagle and his wife, Janet, enjoyed traveling. They visited Hawaii, Alaska and enjoyed numerous cruises. They were members of the Carolina Travel Trailer Club for over thirty-five years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He cherished the fellowship he shared with the members of the Phil Lipe Sunday School Class to which he belonged for many years.
Mr. Eagle is survived by his wife of sixty years, Janet McGinnis Eagle; daughter, Karen Childers and husband, Steve and son, Herman Eagle Jr. and wife Reidie all of China Grove; granddaughter, Summer Eagle Young and grandson, Andrew Eagle. His will be remembered as a sweet and humble man.
