Herman Gearing, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Herman "Pop" Gearing, Sr., 86, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018, at CHS-NorthEast in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Edwards and Rev. Bobby Sutherland will officiate. Interment will follow at Solid Rock Worship Center Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Gearing was born June 16, 1931 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Lewis W. Gearing and Clydie Scarborough Gearing. He retired from Brothers Tire Sales in Kannapolis after 34 years of service. Herman enjoyed piddling with old cars and watching NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Freeze and Pauline Hersey; and two brothers, L.C. Gearing and Thurman "Red" Gearing.
Mr. Gearing is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay Mullis Gearing; son, Herman Gearing, Jr. and wife Lynnette Sutherland Gearing of Kannapolis; brother, C.D. Gearing of Kannapolis; grandson, Daniel Walters; and two great granddaughters, Olivia and Kenley Walters.
The family would like to thank the staff of Avante Nursing and Rehab for the care given to "Pop".
