Herman Hoover Morris' Obituary
Mr. Herman Hoover Morris, 85, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Jolley will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Morris was born June 18, 1928 in Concord. He was a son of the late Willie Washington Morris and Julia Teresa Morris. He worked for Cannon Mills as a Supervisor and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in World War II. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf at The Club at Irish Creek, formerly Kannapolis Country Club, where he was a lifetime member. He was also a lifelong member of Flow Harris Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and was on a number of committees.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois Anderson Morris; daughter, Teresa Morris Allen and husband John of Landis; granddaughter, Allison Allen Harper and husband Zac; and two great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Caleb Harper.
