Hilda Lee Edsell Petty's Obituary
Mrs. Hilda Lee Edsell Petty, 87, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018, at St. Andrews Living Center in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Calvary Lutheran Church. Pastor Carrie Bishop will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:25 pm in the sanctuary of the church.
Mrs. Petty was born November 23, 1930 in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Roy Lee Edsell and Blanche Louise Cress Edsell. Hilda was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where she was an active and faithful member as long as her health permitted. She also organized the Samaritans Purse at her church. Hilda enjoyed sewing and all kinds of crafts, but loved her grandchildren the most.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Petty; a brother, Rev. Robert Edsell; and four sisters, Nell Coffey, Madge Goodnight, Helen McClamrock and Jo Carolyn Mauldin.
Mrs. Petty is survived by two daughters, Janet Bryant and husband Malcolm of Concord and Sherylle Diffey of Concord; two sons, David Petty and wife Angie of Kannapolis and Bob Petty of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; and six grandchildren, Nigel and Rhiannon, Jonathan and LeAnna Kim, and Rebekah and Samuel.
Memorials may be sent to Calvary Lutheran Church, 950 Bradley Street, NE, Concord, NC, 28025.
