Hilda Pittman's Obituary
Ms. Hilda Shirley Pittman, 77, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Friday, December 4, 2015, at Concord First Assembly at the Village, Suite 5, 280 Concord Parkway South, Concord, NC 28027. Pastor Kevin Whidden and Dr. Greg Sloop will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm Friday at Concord First Assembly at the Village, Suite 5, prior to the service.
Ms. Pittman was born September 29, 1938 in Snow Hill, NC. She was a daughter of the late John Shirley and Hazel Ellis Shirley. She worked for GEM Management in Concord as an apartment rental manager. She was a long time member of Concord First Assembly. She enjoyed traveling and volunteering for her church. Hilda touched the lives of many people with her smile and ready-to-travel spirit, which she maintained all the way to the end.
Ms. Pittman will be forever remembered by her children, Jennifer Marie Pittman of Kannapolis, John Benjamin Pittman of Washington, DC, and William Elbert Pittman and wife Pamela of Kiawah Island, SC; siblings, Ben Shirley of Raleigh, Burney Shirley of Goldsboro, and Marie Garver of Kannapolis; and two grandchildren, Trapper and Hunter. She will also be missed by Elbert Pittman and countless other family members, friends, and coworkers.
