Inez York (Childers)'s Obituary
Mrs. Inez Childers York, 86, left this life to be with her Lord and Savior and join her husband of 65 years, Harold Julian York, and their son, Ronald Lee York, on Monday, March 9, 2015, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Howard Tyas, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am Thursday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. York was born on July 2, 1928 in Taylorsville. She was a daughter of the late Virgil Childers and Pansy Reese Childers. She retired as an inspector from Cannon Mills. Mrs. York was a very active member of Second Presbyterian Church. She was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR and the Carolina Panthers.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was the last sibling out of five sisters and two brothers and was preceded by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. York is survived by her son, Jerel York and wife, Chris, of Lewisville; daughter, Janis Johnson and husband, Scott, of Winston Salem; three grandchildren, Candace, Ronnie and Tim York; two great grandchildren, Jace and Raely York; and many special nieces.
