Iris Faye Troutman Bratton's Obituary
Mrs. Iris Faye Troutman Bratton, 83, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2011, at The Gardens of Taylor Glen in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Concord. Mrs. Bratton will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Pastor Tim Bean and Rev. Darrell Coble will officiate. Interment will follow at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Bratton was born September 7, 1928 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late Ellis Eddie Troutman and Onie Elizabeth Yost Troutman.
Mrs. Bratton retired from Willis Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and a lifetime member of the Women of the ELCA. Iris enjoyed flower gardening, following NASCAR racing and had a great love for animals. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Harrison Bratton and brothers, Ross and Ray Lee Troutman.
Mrs. Bratton is survived by daughter, Beth Lomax of Concord; son, Doug Bratton and wife, Anne Marie of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Sylvia Kluttz of Concord; brother, Joe Troutman of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Miles Ellis Bratton, Alexandra Bratton, Kaitlyn Lomax and April Lomax Privette; nieces and nephew, Starr Kluttz, Robin Troutman and Keith Kluttz and dear and close friend to Iris and her family, Elizabeth Gass.
