Iris "Jill" Self Murph's Obituary
Mrs. Iris "Jill" Self Murph, 74, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, at her home in China Grove.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Ed Burns will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Jill was born September 18, 1949 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late J.G. Self and Mary Hartley Self. Prior to retirement, she worked for Terry Products and later she worked at the Blackwelder Park Baptist Church Preschool. She was a member of The Message Community Church in Kannapolis, where she taught Sunday School and Children's Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Lee Murph; a daughter, Donna M. Kennedy; sister, Carolyn S.Cody; and two brothers, Bill and Jim Self.
Jill is survived by two daughters, Julie M. Leazer and husband Jimmy of Spring Lake, NC and Elizabeth M. Ferrell and husband Robert of China Grove; two brothers, Darrell Self of Naples, FL and Steve Self of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Christina Leazer, Jasa Lawter, Nathaniel Leazer, Daniel Kennedy, Erika King, Leland Kennedy and Austin Ferrell; and one great grandson, Michael Leazer.
