Isaac Slate Foster's Obituary
Mr. Isaac Slate Foster, 89, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Sunday, November 13, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Morgan will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Foster was born January 4, 1922 in Spencer, NC. He was a son of the late Augustus Privitte "Gus" Foster and Mary Etta Griffey Foster. He worked as an electro mechanic repairing the electrical systems on the looms in the #1 Weave room at Cannon Mills Plant #1 and retired with over 45 years of service. He enjoyed spending time on High Rock Lake. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces and served during World War II as an Aerial Engineer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Brumbeloe Foster; three sisters, Mary Ethel Norris, Ruth McInnis and Connie McCombs; five brothers, Walter, Dewey, Paul, Roy and Jesse Foster.
Mr. Foster is survived by two sons, Curtis Foster of Rockwell and James Foster of Concord; two sisters, Pearl Fullam of China Grove and Frances Blackwelder of Mooresville; brother, Norman Foster of Cocoa, FL; four grandchildren, Holly Null, Scottie Foster, Joshua Foster and Jonah Foster; and two great grandsons, Hunter Null and Jaxson Furr. He is also survived by Junior Hinson of Kannapolis whom Isaac raised as one of his own sons.
