James Cletus Clark, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Cletus Clark, Sr., 81, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Big Elm Nursing Center in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Saturday, October 22, 2011, at West Concord Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Farley will officiate. Interment with military rites will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 pm Saturday at West Concord Baptist Church.
Mr. Clark was born February 13, 1930 in Stanly County. He was a son of the late Fetzer Lee Clark and Allie Mae Thomas Clark. He retired after 46 years of service from Cannon Mills Plant 1 where he worked in the Bleachery department. After retirement, he worked part time for Hilbish Ford in Kannapolis where he delivered parts. He was a 25 year member of the Cabarrus County Rescue Squad where he had also served on the Board of Directors. He was an active member of West Concord Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jewel Cook.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Jean Carolyn Stancil Clark; two sons, Jimmy Clark and wife, Robin of Concord and Tony Clark and wife, Wanda of Kannapolis; sister, Lib Jordan of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Pete Clark and wife, Marie of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Christie, Angel, Jerrod and Jake; and one great granddaughter, Aryana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to West Concord Baptist Church, 225 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord, NC 28027.
