James Randall Dakins' Obituary
Mr. James Randell Dakins, 48, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.
A service to celebrate the life of James is scheduled for 2:30 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Revolution Church. Pastor Ken Salisbury and Pastor Chris Daniel will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Wednesday at Revolution Church.
In order for everyone to feel comfortable, the family is requiring all attendees to wear a mask.
Mr. Dakins was born March 7, 1972 at the US Army Hospital in Chatan, Okinawa, Japan. He was a son of his late mother, Hatsuko Yamashiro Dakins.
Those that knew James knew how much he loved his wife and his children. And even though he didn't have a lot of blood family, he loved his friends like family. James was a member of Revolution Church in Kannapolis. James loved the Lord and his church family. James was the store manager at Big Lots in Concord for 20 years. He was a hard worker and took pride in his work. Not only was he a manager, he was a mentor and friend. James was on the Board of Directors and Co-Chair for the Esther's Heart for Transformation Ministry. He always had a heart to help people.
Mr. Dakins is survived by his wife, Patricia "Trisha" Dakins of China Grove; daughter, Jessica Barber and husband Travis of Concord; two sons, Tyler and Austin Dakins, both of China Grove; one brother, Mike Dakins and wife Teresa of Concord; two nieces; and three nephews.
