James Kenneth Deal's Obituary
Mr. James Kenneth Deal, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Deal was born June 1, 1930 in Taylorsville. He was a son of the late James Howard Deal and Stella Pennell Deal.
A graveside service is scheduled for 9:00 am Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Salisbury National Cemetery. Rev. Mike Goode will officiate.
He attended Landis Schools and worked in sheet distribution at Cannon Mills for 35 years, after which he was a Joy Dog Food distributor until his retirement. He was a US Army Veteran, having served in Germany during the Korean War. Mr. Deal was a member of First United Methodist Church in China Grove and Williams Sunday School Class. He volunteered with the Junior and Senior High groups of the church in past years. He loved horses, raising and showing Bantam Chickens and was a member of American Bantam Association. Mr. Deal also enjoyed exercising in the pool at Frank Corriher YMCA.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Henderson Deal, whom he married on April 5, 1952; son, Michael Deal and wife Donna of China Grove; granddaughter, Leah Deal and boyfriend Todd Wilson of Kannapolis; sister, Carol Deal Brooks and husband Aaron; nephew, Anthony Brooks; nieces, Susan Brooks Holmes, all of Albemarle and Crystal Brooks Hankins of Candor, NC.
