James Leroy Donahue's Obituary
Mr. James Leroy Donahue, 71, of 4870 Highway 152 West, China Grove, died Friday, May 16, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord, following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2003, at Lakewood Baptist Church in Kannapolis. The Rev. Robert D. Howard, Rev. John Haas and Rev. Ron Parker will officiate. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born January 1, 1932, in Rowan County, NC, he was a son of the late James Berlie Donahue and the late Hattie Webster Donahue. Mr. Donahue was the owner and operator of Donahue Floor Covering for 38 years. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Robinson Donahue, to whom he was married for 48 years; three sons, Dennis James Donahue and his wife, Troy Ann, Tony Lynn Donahue and his wife, Dana, Timothy Wayne Donahue and his wife, Donna, all of China Grove; two sisters, Shirley Shirley and Dorothy Blackwelder, both of Kannapolis; and four grandsons, Kyle Donahue, Brent Donahue, Andrew Donahue and Matthew Donahue.
