James Walter Griffin, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Walter Griffin, Sr., 81, of 516 Collins Street, died Monday, September 24, 2007, at Universal Healthcare in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Griggs will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis with graveside rites conducted by Concord DAV Chapter 27.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Mr. Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was born April 28, 1926 in Mooresville, NC. He was the son of the late James Tilman Griffin and Mabel Louise Thomas Griffin. He was a graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in World War II and was a life member of Poston Perkins VFW Post 8989. He worked for Cannon Mills as a Supervisor in the Sheet Dept. and later worked for Shoe Show as a delivery driver.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife Montine Osley Griffin; son, James W. Griffin, Jr. of Kannapolis; sister, Judy G. Bostian husband, Barry of Kannapolis; grandsons, James "Trey" W. Griffin, III and Chandler Griffin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
