James H. Harris, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Henry Harris, Jr., 83, of 206 South Main Street, Kannapolis, died Thursday, December 18, 2003, at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis after six months of serious illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2003, at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. Rev. Richard Rhoades and Rev. Hoke Ritchie will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Mr. Harris.
Mr. Harris was born April 12, 1920 in Durham, NC. He was the son of the late James H. Harris, Sr. and Esther Pickett Harris. He was a retired Vice-President of Terry Products, Inc. He was also a retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. having served in Germany during World War II. He was an active member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church were he served as church treasurer for many years. He was also on the Board of Directors at Security Bank.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Mary Alexander Harris; three sons, Richard A. Harris, and his wife, Sandy, of Charlotte, James H. Harris, III, and his wife, Susan, of Kannapolis, Larry D. Harris of Newton, NC; sister, Edna Bryant and her husband, Henry, of Durham, NC; five grandchildren, Allison Harris, Matthew Harris, Alexis Harris, Kristen Harris, Richard Harris, Jr.
