James Pressley Lackey, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. James Pressley "Jim" Lackey, Sr., 80, of N. Correll Street, Landis, died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ralph Robinette will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born July 30, 1926, In Statesville, he was the son of the late Arry Wright Lackey and Ruby Alley Lackey. He retired from the packing and shipping department of Dominion Textiles in Landis. He was a member of Rodgers Park Baptist Church. Mr. Lackey was a US Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Reid Lackey; one son, James Pressley Lackey, Jr. and wife, Donna, of China Grove; two sisters, Novella Martin of China Grove and Moline Vaughn of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
