James Henry Lisenby's Obituary
Mr. James Henry Lisenby, 86, of Kannapolis, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Joe Crawford, Dr. Douglas Mize, and the Rev. Don Mason will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Born November 12, 1922 in Waco, Texas, Mr. Lisenby was the son of the late John Travis Lisenby, Sr. and Elizabeth Talbert Lisenby. He retired several years ago from the sheet bleachery of Cannon Mills. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where he formerly served as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. For several years, he helped prepare meals from the Wednesday luncheon that was held at the church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Makonis, Marie L. Quick, and Mildred L. Thornley; and three brothers, D. W. Lisenby, William V. Lisenby, and Eugene Lisenby.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Howell Lisenby; a daughter, Kathryn L. Perry and husband, William, of Rock Hill, SC; one son, Ronald J. Lisenby and wife, Connie, of Kannapolis; a sister, Rosie L. Cumbee of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two brothers, John T. Lisenby, Jr. of Reno, NV and Leonard L. Lisenby of Pinopolis, SC; three grandchildren, Susan Perry of New York, NY, Amanda Perry Woodard and husband, Eric, of Columbia, SC, and Raegan L. Malinovsky and husband, Tim, of Mooresville; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Malinovsky; and several nieces and nephews.
