James Woodrow Meeks' Obituary
Mr. James Woodrow "Jimmy" Meeks, 56, of 5809 Goldfish Road, China Grove, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Steve Beam will officiate. Interment will follow at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury with military rites conducted by the Rowan County Veterans Council.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born October 4, 1948 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of Kiter Murphy Meeks and the late Woodrow Wilson Meeks. He was a self-employed painter and served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.
Survivors include his mother, Kiter Murphy Meeks of the home; a son, Shane William Meeks of the home; a sister, Martha Palmer and her husband, Larry, of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Jessica Meeks of the home and Melissa Inez Sampson of Concord; a niece, Karla Harvey of Kannapolis; and a nephew, Kris Palmer of Lincolnton.
