James Marshall Stewart's Obituary
Mr. James Marshall Stewart, age 89, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his home under the care of Hospice, following a short illness.
A service of celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in Epworth United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Christy and Dr. Glen Myers Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the parlor at Epworth United Methodist Church prior to the service.
Mr. Stewart is a lifelong resident of Cabarrus County, born December 7, 1921 to the late Joseph H. Stewart and Mayfield Little Stewart. He retired from the Concord Post Office. He was an active member Epworth United Methodist Church for fifty years. He was very active in various church activities throughout the years, especially the hot dog ministry. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Stokes Masonic Lodge #32, Concord. He and his wife Mary Gwyn Stewart were married on March 18, 1951.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Clarence and Leroy Stewart.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Mary Gwyn Stewart, one sister Kathleen Stewart of Concord and a number of nieces and nephews.
