James Alton Strickland's Obituary
Mr. James "Jim" Alton Strickland, 76, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Mount Hope Church. Rev. Dr. Johnny Boggs will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Church Cemetery in Salisbury.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:45 am Saturday at Mount Hope Church.
Mr. Strickland was born January 24, 1945 in Clinton, NC. He was a son of the late Robert Page Strickland and Lela Freeman Bullard Strickland. He was an active member of Mount Hope Church. He enjoyed playing pool. Jim was also a member of APA and a pool league. He enjoyed building things for friends and family, and loved working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Robert Daniel Strickland; and a brother, Dennis Keith Strickland.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Alice Williams Strickland; two daughters, Kellie Luttrell and husband Jeff and Angela Denise Honeycutt and husband Steve, both of Salisbury; sister, Doris Burke of Salisbury; two brothers, Steve Allen Strickland of Panama City, FL and Ronnie Page Strickland of Altamonte Springs, FL; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
