Janet Ophelia Tutterow Helms' Obituary
Mrs. Janet Ophelia Tutterow Helms, 86, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Greg Sloop will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Helms was born August 17, 1936 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Paul Tutterow and Sophia Crotts Tutterow. Mrs. Helms worked as an administrative assistant for Linn-Corriher Mills. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God, and was a former organist of her church. She enjoyed camping with her family and loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Jerry Crawford Helms; daughter, Denise Renee Helms; and son-in-law, Barry Hobbs.
Mrs. Helms is survived by three children, Steven Helms and wife Dana of China Grove, Mike Helms and wife Nora of Salisbury, and Joy Hobbs of Concord; sister, Shirley McGee of Concord; brother, Alphaeus Tutterow of Kannapolis; six grandchildren, Deidra Helms, Rebecca Helms, Jacob Helms, Adam Helms, Anna Blanquicet and Madison Hobbs; and eight great grandchildren.
