Janice Lyerly Keever's Obituary
Mrs. Janice Lyerly Keever, 83, of Kannapolis, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Concord Place in Concord.
Funeral services will be conducted at Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Don Burleson, officiating. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Keever was born on October 16, 1926 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Gerry Jacob Lyerly and Pearl Lucille Penninger Lyerly and was raised by her late step-mother, Addie H. Lyerly. She was a retired employee of Cannon Mills and was a devoted Christian and a longtime church member and currently of Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church. She was also a past member of the Order of Eastern Star and a volunteer at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center for 30 years in the Pastoral Care Department.
Mrs. Keever was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and step-mother, by a brother, Myron Black Lyerly, and her second husband, Pink M. Keever.
Survivors include two sons, Harry E. Greene, Jr. and Gerry Christopher Greene, both of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Catherine Blake Greene and husband Charlie of Tallassee, FL, Janice Devon Greene of St. Simon, GA, Melissa Busey Kammski and husband Drew of Satellite Beach, FL, Jason Christopher Greene and Jacob Greene, both of Harrisburg; and seven great grandchildren. She also is survived by her former husband, Harry E. Greene, Sr. of Selma, NC
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, 3006 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083, in memory of Mrs. Keever.
