Janie Starnes Brown's Obituary
Mrs. Janie Starnes Huneycutt Brown, age 66, of Providence Street, China Grove, NC, a loving mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 30, 2010 at her home. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be conducted at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Marler Starnes and the Rev. George Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Monday in the church prior to the funeral service. At other times the family will be at her home, 145 Providence Street, China Grove, NC 28023.
She was born in Cabarrus County, NC on May 8, 1944, a daughter of the late, Eli Starnes and Josephine Aycock Starnes. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Charles Huneycutt and two brothers, Gerald Starnes and Worth Starnes. Having worked as a CNA for the VA Hospital she was also a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Huneycutt and fianc e David Clutts of China Grove and Sharon Huneycutt O'Neal and husband Steve also of China Grove; two brothers, Rev. Marler Starnes and wife Barbara of Kannapolis, Gary Starnes and wife Nadine of Kannapolis, two sisters, Joann Starnes Phillips and husband L.T. of Cayce, SC, and Rachel Starnes Mincey of Florida. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Amber O'Neal, Caleb O'Neal, Shelby Huneycutt, Zachary Lamb, Dalton Lamb, Daniel Clutts, Nathan Clutts, and Austin Sloop. One great granddaughter, Kiley O'Neal. Mrs. Brown is also survived by a special friend, Bill Kirks of Concord.
The family request that any memorials be donated to her church, Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, 509 West 22nd Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083. in memory of Mrs. Brown.
