Jeanette Sills McCommons' Obituary
Mrs. Jeanette Sills McCommons, 93, of Carolina Avenue, Kannapolis, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Avante at Concord.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Richard Rhoades will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born November 2, 1914 in Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Perry F. Sills and Ocia Falls Sills. She retired from the weave room of Cannon Mills. Mrs. McCommons was a charter member of Royal Oaks Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William S. "Bill" McCommons; a grandson, Jack William McCommons; one sister, Inell Sills; and three brothers, J. P. Sills, Coy Sills and Jim Sills.
Survivors include a son, William S. McCommons and wife, Deanne, of Kannapolis; one daughter, Elizabeth M. Meadows of Kannapolis; two sisters; Mary Davis of Charlotte and Ruby Brown of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; a grandson, William Stewart Meadows and wife, Lisa, of China Grove; and a great-grandson, Zachery Carter Meadows.
