Jerry Wayne Ferguson's Obituary
Mr. Jerry Wayne Ferguson, 73, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. Pastor Richard Graf and Rev. Michael A. Johnson will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 pm Sunday prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church.
Mr. Ferguson was born on January 24, 1941 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Amon Odell Ferguson and Beatrice Helms Ferguson. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Ferguson retired after 30 years as a dispatcher for the NC Highway Patrol where he was awarded the Order of The Long Leaf Pine. He was a Mason and a Boy Scout Leader earning the Wood Badge. Mr. Ferguson was a very active member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church where his first love was cooking for the church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris F. Harrington.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by his wife, Judy Bowlin Ferguson; son, Chris Ferguson of Kannapolis; daughter, Audra Leigh Ferguson of Salisbury; step-children, Jason W. Johnson and Angela D. Null of Salisbury; sister, Carol F. Sheets and husband Ronnie of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
