Jimmy Wayne Kluttz's Obituary
Mr. Jimmy Wayne Kluttz, 67, of Kannapolis, beloved husband, honored father and adored grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2006, at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. The Rev. Stan Welch and the Rev. Roger Head will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be conducted by DAV CHapter 27 of Concord. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born October 29, 1938, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Harvey Kluttz and Myrtle Kate Basinger Kluttz. He graduated from Landis High School in 1957 and served four years in the US Navy and served a tour on the U.S.S. Independence. He retired in 1999 from 30 years of long-distance truck driving. He was a member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Odell Lions Club and the Salisbury Gold Wing Rider's Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry Kluttz, Frank Kluttz, Clyde Lou Kluttz and Floyd Lawson Kluttz; and a sister, Leitha Kluttz.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Barbara Poole Kluttz; five children, Cindy Kluttz VanCamp and husband Dutch of Kannapolis, Debra Kluttz Smith and husband Kirk of Woodlands, TX, Bryan Kluttz and wife Heather Nagami of Hull, MA, Karen Kluttz Belk and husband Greg of China Grove, Kathy Kluttz Fields and husband Todd of Kannapolis; a brother, Carl Lee Kluttz and wife Jessie of Rocky Mount; and 12 grandchildren, Josh, Richie, Arielle, Megan, Brooke, Hillary, Sebastian, Jeremy, Savannah, Matt, Abby and Tyler.
