Joe Henry Beaver's Obituary
Mr. Joe Henry Beaver, 82, of 926 S. Walnut Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Tom Whidden, the Rev. Forest Jones and Mr. Kirk Sams will officiate. Military honors will also be given.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home.
Born October 7, 1925 in Rowan County, Mr. Beaver was the son of the late George Henry Beaver and Ola Kathleen Cook Beaver. He retired several years ago as a weaver from Cannon Mills. Joe was a very active member of Concord First Assembly. He honorably served his country in the US Army during World War II. He enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Beaver Adams; and a brother, Ray Lee Beaver.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Cruse Beaver; two daughters, Susan Beaver Livengood and husband, Gary, of Kannapolis, Joanne Beaver Plott of Las Vegas, Nevada; a son, Henry A. (Tony) Beaver and wife, Barbara, of Concord; one brother, Ralph Beaver of China Grove; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
