John Kenneth Kimray's Obituary
Mr. John Kenneth Kimray, 77, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. He had battled numerous health issues the past three years and had been in seriously declining health this past year, but he always maintained a gracious, positive outlook throughout his illness.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The Rev. Gary Posey will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Monday, February 10, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Kimray was born on October 2, 1936 in Cabarrus County. He was the eldest son of the late John Robert Kimray and Laura Lucille Krimminger Kimray. He worked forty years for Cannon Mills working primarily in the No. 5 and No. 6 weave rooms. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening and taking care of his beloved dog, Junior.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Ella Kimray; and two brothers, David Ketner Kimray and Lester Wayne Kimray.
Mr. Kimray is survived by his son, Mark Steven Kimray and wife Vickie of Concord; granddaughter, Amanda Romanelli and husband Richard of Charlotte; grandson, Justin David Crotty and wife Karen of Concord; sister-in-law, Mary Benton Kimray; niece, Karen Rene Kimray; and two, nephews Tim Kimray and Dan Kimray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Victory Temple, 3101 Cline School Road, Concord, NC 28025.
