John Franklin Puntch's Obituary
John Franklin Puntch, 60, of Bud Road, Denver, NC, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Coy Privette will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the home of his son, Andy Puntch, 7278 Pine Ridge Road, Denver, NC.
Born January 13, 1949 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late John Ransom Puntch and Selma Greene Puntch. He was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. John graduated from A.L. Brown High School and Appalachian State University. He was an 8th grade history teacher at Mt. Pleasant Middle School.
Survivors include a daughter, Meredith Puntch of Charlotte; son, Andrew Puntch and wife, April, of Denver, NC; sister, Carolyn Canady of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Puntch, Andrew Puntch and Lucas Puntch; ex-wife, Rita Hinson of Concord; stepmother, Gladys Puntch of Kannapolis; and a special lifelong friend, Terry L. Mitchell of Kannapolis.
