John Allen Williams' Obituary
Mr. John Allen Williams, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joel Locklear will officiate. Inurnment with Military Honors will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Salisbury National Cemetery.
The memorial service will also be streamed live at www.ladysfuneralhome.com/live.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams was born January 9, 1941 in McLaurin, MS. He was a son of the late Jack Williams and Vera Courtney Sims. Mr. Williams was a retired veteran of 20 years. He was an aviation electrician in the US Navy and served 3 years in the Vietnam war. After retiring from the military, he was employed at Cannon Mills and CSI. Mr. Williams liked four wheel drive trucks and messing around in his garage. He was always good at adapting things to work with his disability. It's amazing what he could accomplish from a wheelchair. Mr. Williams lived a simple life with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Joyce Ivey.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Joyce Clark Williams; daughter, Brenda Cochran and husband Adam; brother, Ben Williams of Petal, MS; grandchildren, Ashleigh Sanchez, Clark Ivey, Parker Holt, R.J. Cochran, and William Cochran; great grandchildren, Carter Ivey, Kinsley Sanchez, and George Holt; and former son-in-law, John Ivey.
