Johnnie Mcwhorter Hudson's Obituary
Mrs. Johnnie McWhorter Hudson, 88, of Eastwood Drive, died Sunday May 17, 2010 at her home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hudson will be conducted in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am Thursday, May 20, 2010. The Rev. Glenn Weatherby will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home and will be at her home following the funeral service Thursday.
Born in Waxhaw, NC, she was a daughter of the late John James McWhorter and Josie Alice Carnes McWhorter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin W. Hudson on December 31, 2007, a stepson Gary Hudson, step-granddaughter, Debbie Cox; and two sisters, Nancy Pauline Flowers and Emma Lee McFarland. A Member of North Kannapolis United Methodist Church, she had formerly been a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, China Grove.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Hudson and wife Sheila of China Grove and Bill Milligan and wife Martha of Matthews. Also surviving are two sisters, Edna Ruth Moser of Monroe and Willie James Eldridge of Loudon, TN; five grandchildren, Tony Hudson, Randy Hudson, Christopher Hudson, Aaron Joyce and Derrick Milligan; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family request memorials for Mrs. Hudson to be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
