Joseph R. McWaters' Obituary
Mr. Joseph Randall "Randy" McWaters, 56, of 518 Collins Street, Kannapolis, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2006, at Carolina Memorial Park. Dr. R. J. Hammond and the Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born August 26, 1950, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Sammie Leroy McWaters and Loma Lee Payne McWaters. He was employed as a child support recovery agent with the Cabarrus County Department of Social Services. His professional involvement included serving as the 1999 president of the Child Support Council, member of the Scholarship Committee with the Department of Social Services and serving on the board of directors of Prosperity Unlimited. His church and civic activities include serving as Past President of Allen Graham Masonic Lodge in Kannapolis and the Jaycees of Albany Georgia. Randy was a licensed minister and had a Degree in Theology and Political Science. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church and a former volunteer fireman with the Kannapolis Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Beaver McWaters; daughter, Amanda Gordon and husband, Jesse, of Concord; son, Andy McWaters and wife, Annemarie, of Kannapolis; two sisters, Mitzi Tutterow and husband, Ronald, of Kannapolis, Denise Story and husband, Will, of China Grove; and six grandchildren, Jacob McWaters, Isaac McWaters, Olivia McWaters, Matthew McWaters, Sam Gordon and Jack Gordon.
Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
