Born January 12, 1926, in Chesterfield County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Dave Hildreth and Annie Gathings Hildreth. Even though she was an invalid for the last 43 years, the beautiful sunshine she spread will be remembered by many. Her great love and witness to her Saviour was an inspiration to all who met her. Her smile would brighten any room and you could always feel love in her presence. She was the beginning and center of a great circle of love in our family. She will be greatly missed and always cherished in our memories.
Even though she was bedridden, God gave her a beautiful gift of the ability to write songs, and several of her albums were published. "Face to Face" and "Footsteps of Jesus" were songs she had written about her life and being prepared to meet her Lord. She also had won several literary awards for short stories she had written.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lee Lambert; and two children, Rosa Lee Lambert and Johnny Carl Lambert.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Barker and her husband, Kevin, of Concord and Shane Lowe and her husband, Gary, of Kannapolis; two sons, David Lambert and his wife, Eunice, of China Grove and Daniel Lambert of Kannapolis; 11 grandchildren, Tisha Baker and her husband Kirk, Angie Hendley and her husband Todd, Misty Owens, Lauren Sechler, Brooke Lambert, Kristin Smith, Garett Lowe, Garon Lowe, Patrick Barker, Autumn Sherrill and Erica Teate; five great-grandchildren, Bray Ann Holbrook, Tyler Hendley, Jayden Hendley, Skyler Smith and Daniel Owens; two loving caregivers, Abby Moss and Patricia Gilmore; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 904 Chipola Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083 or Hospice of Cabarrus County, PO Box 1235, Concord, NC 28026.
