Kate Helms Snipes Kelly's Obituary
Mrs. Kate Helms Snipes Kelly, 95, formerly of Haven Street in Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Olde Knox Commons in Huntersville.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. David Simpson will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis with Rev. Joe Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kelly was born July 21, 1921 in Union County. She was a daughter of the late Oscar Talmage Helms and Mary Bivens Helms. She retired from W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Hospital as a secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, William E. Snipes and William Bruce Kelly; two brothers, Ned and Frank Helms; and two sisters, Shirley Shepard and Jean Myers.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by daughter, Carolyn Dennis of Cornelius; son, James Snipes of Mooresville; grandson, Eric Dennis and wife Lisa; three great granddaughters; three great-great granddaughters; two stepsons; and step grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
