Katie Marie Anthony's Obituary
Mrs. Katie Marie Gauldin Anthony, "Granny", 86, of 311 E. 19th Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Susan German and the Rev. Alton Bartee will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born December 21, 1919, in Pennsylvania County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Walter Gauldin and Alberta Louise McDaniel Gauldin. She retired in 1982 from the No. 4 Spinning Room of Cannon Mills Plant One and was previously employed with Food Town. She was a member of North Kannapolis United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus A. Anthony, who died September 23, 1973; and four sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Hardy Grimes and husband, Ronnie, of Kannapolis, and Bobbie Hardy Mueller and husband, Ed, of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandsons, Chris Grimes and wife, Tanisha, and Brian Grimes and wife, Darcy, both of Kannapolis; and a great-grandson, Chase Garrett Grimes.
