Kenneth Vernon Weast's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Vernon Weast, age 70, of Bertha Street, Kannapolis, left for his eternal home Sunday, October 4, 2009 from the Tucker Hospice House.
Kenneth was born in Kannapolis on May 23, 1939, a son of the late Paul W. Weast and Effie Lambert Weast. He retired from the Kannapolis City Schools at Fred L. Wilson Elementary School and had formerly worked for Bitsy Bakery. A full time "Paw Paw", he also greatly enjoyed fishing and was an exceptional baker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Zack Sizemore will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral Home from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the residence on Bertha Street.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Dale Wallace Weast; his children, Ginger Pope and husband James of Concord, Randy Weast and wife Sheri of Enochville, Lorrie Hampton and husband David of Kannapolis, and Toby Weast and wife LeAnne of Concord; eight grandchildren, Christy Honeycutt, Candi Newton and husband Roger Lee, Brandi Murph and husband Chad, Brittany Hampton, Ashley Goodman and husband Casey, Emily Weast, Madison Weast and Mallory Weast; four great-grandchildren Bryanna Honeycutt, Tyler Honeycutt, Savannah Newton and Caleb Murph; and two brothers, Billy Weast and wife Peggy of Concord and Ray Weast and wife Margaret of Kannapolis.
