Kyle Beaver Corriher's Obituary
Mr. Kyle Beaver Corriher, 80, of 106 W. Blume Street, Landis, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2007, at Landis Baptist Church. The Rev. Billy Honeycutt and the Rev. Richard Horn will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Landis Baptist Church. At other times they will be at the home.
Born June 24, 1926, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late George Henry Corriher and Laura Elizabeth Beaver Corriher. He was the owner of Landis Plumbing Supply, Inc. which he founded in 1953. He was a US Army veteran, and served in Okinawa as a sergeant of the Motor-pool during World War II. He was a longstanding, dedicated, faithful member of Landis Baptist Church where he was a member of the Steve Rollins Sunday School Class. Even when his health would have cause him to stay home, he insisted on attending. He was a member of the Gideons International for 52 years. He also supported lots of missionaries around the world.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia C. Miller; and a brother, Frank C. Corriher.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Verline S. Corriher; a son, Tony B. Corriher, and wife, Kathy, of Landis; one daughter, Priscilla C. Weaver and husband, Donny, of China Grove; a brother, Martin Luther "Charlie" Corriher and wife, Pat, of Statesville; four grandchildren, Jonathan Corriher and wife, Melissa, Lauren Ann Weaver and Sara K. Weaver, all of China Grove, Joshua B. Corriher of Charlotte; and one great-grandson, Garrett Michael Corriher.
