Laura Huffman Brigman's Obituary
Mrs. Laura Marie Huffman Brigman, 85, a resident of Morningside Assisted Living and formerly of Bishop Lane, Concord, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the care facility.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Parkwood Baptist Church. The Rev. Bo Sherrill and the Rev. Darrell Coble will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at their respective homes.
Born December 21, 1922 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late David R. Huffman and Laura Lynch Huffman. A graduate of the North Carolina School for the Deaf, she retired in 1973 from the Washcloth Department of Cannon Mills. Mrs. Brigman was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church and the National Fraternal Society of the Deaf. She was a former Lioness in the Deaf Lions Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Adolphus Brigman, who died March 11, 2005; and nine brothers and sisters, Willie Huffman, Mary Cress, Clyde Huffman, Lillian Sides, Luke Huffman, Lee Huffman, Alice Huffman, Edith Thornburg and Charlie Huffman.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
